The Nikon D4 is the new professional level digital slr from Nikon that replaces the D3.It has a cutting edge 16.2 MP CMOS sensor and an ISO sensitivity ranging between 100 and 12,800.It can also be expanded for a range between 50 and 204,800 in the high and low sensitivity modes.Inside the D4 is powered by Nikon Expeed 3 image processor which Nikon describes as being the fastest automatic focus system of any camera Nikon has ever made.It comes equipped with 51 auto focus points of which 15 are crosshair type and some of those crosshairs are even available when you use the longest of lenses and a lens converter.So even when shooting objects very far away you still have some control of the auto focus system.

Another interesting feature on the Nikon D4 is the newly designed auto focus switch that enables you to toggle through the different settings that are available while looking through the viewfinder.Along with that the D4 incorporates a 91,000 pixel metering system which Nikon describes as giving it the ability to be able to take a constant life feed of information from the surroundings so its always ready to shoot.Nikon says this camera is able to shoot in the most demanding and darkest conditions.Besides that to further assist while shooting in the dark the buttons along the backsides and on the top are all illuminated.

In the rear the camera sports a 3.2 921,000 dot lcd which has an integrated ambient light sensor so it can adjust the brightness and saturation accordingly based on the conditions your viewing it from.In addition,the D4 is able to shoot 11 frames per second or if your using the automatic focus system it shoots 10 frames per second.

Not only is the D4 able to shoot great still photos but it can also shoot full HD video at 1080p resolution.Video can last up to 29 minutes and 59 seconds and Nikon has conveniently moved the recording button next to the shutter button.

One of the most exciting elements of the D4 is the dual memory card chamber in the back.It not only takes a compact flash memory card but it also showcases a new QXD memory card which is the next generation of memory card and even faster than compact flash.On top of that we have a HDMI output on the side which will allow you to display the video that your shooting live on a separate monitor.There's also an ethernet port and a wireless internet adapter that can be added as well,so the moment you take the photos your able to send them back to the office and share them.

Despite having a lower capacity battery than the previous professional digital slr from Nikon the D4 according to Nikon will give you more performance with the new battery due to a more efficient shooting system.Its also worth noting the D4 provides iPad and iPhone support allowing you to plug them into the D4 and be able to see exactly what the camera is seeing.It also enables you to control a number of the features and functions including recording video and taking a photo.Overall the Nikon D4 is a state of the art,professional level,digital slr camera.
